One of the first dog breeds that I ever snapped was a small poodle. He would race round the studio checking on what everybody was doing. As quickly as we might finish our session off he would race with no sign of difficulty.

These types are the standard poodle, the small poodle, and the toy poodle. These different sorts are differentiated by size, with the size boundaries set by the AKC. The standard poodle must stand at least fifteen inches tall at the shoulders. The miniature poodle must stand at least ten inches tall, but no more than fifteen inches tall at the shoulders. These dogs are made by the crossbreeding of 2 different thoroughbred dogs. Some folk call them cross-breed poodles, but that's inaccurate terminology. Half-breed is the crossing of two different species. Some common poodle crossbreeds are the cockapoo or the spoodle, which is formed by crossing the poodle with a cocker spaniel. One of the first crosses was done with a labrador retriever and called a labradoodle. The labradoodle was first bred by folks desiring to make a hypoallergenic guide dog. Poodles and labradors shed little and are hypoallergenic so that the crossing of the 2 was was hoping to end up in a hypoallergenic dog, but the results were quite variable from litter to litter. Poodles coats must be kept well groomed or their coats may become upsetting to be around, and in extraordinary cases it could be a health danger.
