To be considered a Toy Poodle, its size can only be up to 10 inches with a weight of six to nine pounds. Toy Poodles like to be around others, but can be reserved among strangers, making them good watchdogs. Some Toy Poodles are thought to be high strung and will snap.

This doesn't mean a Toy Poodle does not make a good family pet.

Toy Poodles incline to be devoted to their families and some are good with youngsters. One of the first dog breeds that I ever snapped was a tiny poodle. He would race round the studio checking on what everybody was doing. But because they also forget slowly an owner must be consistent or risk acrimony. Poodles are a strong breed and live between ten and 18 years and in a few cases up to 21 years. The Poodle Clip was originated to help in the reduction of resistance in the water. The patches of hair left covering the organs and joints were left to help protect those areas. Failure to maintain the coat can lead to matted fur that may only be removed with scissors. The familiar Poodle Cut was essentially crucial for the dog when it was used for hunting. The cut helped protect critical joints and organs in the cold water. There are health worries that exist with this breed.
